Intersynthesis is a leader in socially responsible marketing. We proactively take responsibility for making a positive social, environmental, and economic impact in our audiences and communities through our business decisions and activities.
Social Responsibility
- We develop socially responsible marketing and advertising content. We deliver advertising that is truthful and non-deceptive in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau and Interactive Advertising Bureau standards, guidelines and best practices. We value and protect the freedom of speech, and apply this freedom to choose aspirational and educational content that promotes positive experiences and emotional well being for our audiences.
- We view employees as people and talented assets rather than costs. We ensure the health, safety and welfare of our employees, consultants, suppliers and clients. We take responsibility for conditions under which our services are delivered directly or by contract employees, domestically or abroad. We value and protect fundamental human and worker rights in accordance with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
- We treat everyone with fairness and respect. We value the benefits of a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community, and prevent discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
- We help our communities grow. We engage in philanthropic activities and establish relationships with communities, groups, and organizations to solicit their input. We provide programs and learning opportunities to develop a skilled, competitive workforce.
- We value the privacy of our clients and their audiences. We ensure the privacy of personally identifiable consumer information and do not sell or share this information with third parties.
Environmental Responsibility
- We reduce the volume of paper wasted by junk mail. We promote the more effective and more environmentally sound practice of shifting ads to interactive channels that do not consume trees or end up in land fills.
- We favor renewable energy sources. Our web site and electronic communications are powered by solar, wind, and other energies that reduce carbon emissions.
- We act locally. We reduce the ecological impact of vehicle emissions associated with long distance transportation and distribution by purchasing goods and services from local producers and suppliers whenever possible.
- We improve rush hour. We utilize interactive technologies to allow employees and consultants to telecommute whenever possible, reducing the number of cars on the road during peak commuting times.
- We decrease visual pollution. We value and support the availability of creative works and public space that are free of media and advertising.
Governance and Economic Responsibility
- We are good corporate citizens. We comply with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- We act ethically. We avoid even the appearance of impropriety in all interactions with clients, audiences, employees, contractors and suppliers.
- We are financially transparent. We follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and make our corporate finances and records available for review by qualified third parties.
- We invest in our communities. We allocate a portion of our profits for charitable giving to support causes that improve our communities.
- We promote individual responsibility. We believe in taking responsibility at all levels of the company, and incorporate the views and input of all employees into the decision making process whenever possible and practical.
